A Very Rare and Beautiful Quality Hand-Carved Victorian Whitby Jet Three-Tier Festoon Necklace c. 1870.
This Impressive Necklace consists of three rows of Hand-Carved, graduated and faceted Whitby Jet.
Each strand is a different length to maximise the attractiveness of the whole Necklace. Each bead has been hand-cut so that the facets reflect light. The two ‘corner’ pieces are faceted on the front and smooth on the back.
The Necklace is also a Riviere, as the beads go all the way round the back of the neck, ending in a simple and effective Silver push-fit clasp. The clasp is also made in Whitby Jet.
This Rare and Dynamic Necklace is in Excellent Condition, and measures  17 ½  inches around the neck, and across the top row (inside). This is an excellent Investment – a real museum piece, and work of Victorian Art.

The Whitby Jet beads are multifaceted and polished to reflect light, and give an effect of shimmering dark and light.
They are graduated, measuring from 10mm. to 20mm. approx., and the clasp is the Original simple sprung bolt ring which is easy to put on and secure (though it will go straight over the head, bypassing the fastener!)
This Enchanting and Substantial Necklace is 32 ½ inches long and makes a very positive statement. A Good Investment.

The Marquise beads are slightly graduated, and faceted so that they catch reflected light.
They are divided and protected by several small faceted Jet beads in between.

A Wistful and Beautiful Antique Whitby Jet Quality Pendant in the shape of a Love-Heart, on a chain of white and yellow Gold.
The heart is Hand-Carved Antique Whitby Jet, perfectly smooth and rounded.
Jet has been used for adornment since prehistoric times, and favoured by the Romans, Saxons, Vikings and Celts for its mystical Power and Beauty. It is said to ward off evil and bring Good Luck.
It measures over one inch by over one inch, hanging 28mm. from the top of the interestingly split, stylish bale, and has a very unusual and attractive white Gold chain.
The chain measures 18 inches and has ‘discs’ of yellow Gold every 10mm. along. It has a secure sprung bolt ring clasp.

A Distinctive and Beautiful Quality Victorian French Jet Necklace.
It consists of ‘plaques’ of French Jet which are multi-faceted and reflect light.
The plaques are hexagonal, collet and diamond shaped and linked on strong metal plates.
From the squares hang pendants of circular or triangular shapes of faceted French Jet, to make this a most Unique and Attractive Necklace.
The Gold catch is a simple ‘S’ catch to make it simple to put on and take off.

A Spectacular and Simply Sensational Quality Mid-Victorian French Jet Necklace with black ‘Snowflake’ pendants.
There are five black snowflake pendants in all, with the centre one the largest. This measures approx.1 ¾  inches across, and the others 1 ½  inches.
Each snowflake consists of dozens of pieces of black French Jet. Each piece is shaped:- round, pendeloque, diamond, and each is faceted to reflect light.
The Necklace- Riviere consists of ovals of faceted, convex French Jet.
On a strong original chain, with spring clasp, this sparkling and Elegant Necklace is in Excellent Condition, for its age- approx. 150 years old.
It measures  15 ½   inches, and could easily be made shorter by clipping into different positions on the chain.

It would be very easy to unhook two of the snowflake Pendants and put them onto ear wires to make matching Earrings, then hook them back again at any time without any damage to the Necklace.

A Striking and Beautiful Antique French Jet Floral Pendant /Dropper Necklace, c. 1870.
The Pendant consists of a six-petalled ‘flower’. 
Each petal is a pendeloque shape and exquisitely faceted to catch reflected light.
At the centre and between the petals there are faceted circles of French Jet.
The two hanging droppers are multifaceted beads of Jet.
The Necklace itself is made up of a lavaliere of small, intricately hand-faceted beads of French Jet, with the original good sprung bolt ring clasp.
It is 21 inches long and in Excellent Condition. The fastener can be clipped into different positions on the chain, to make it as small as one likes, to choker.
In the Brooches sections, Refs. 2283 and 3378 are excellent matches, if a set is required.

A Beautiful Quality Victorian French Jet Necklace.
Each bead has been hand faceted, and there are 54 of them, and each reflects light to make a shimmering display of black and light.
Each bead also has knots between for protection and security when wearing.
There are two smaller beads next to the Original barrel clasp. This is silver coloured and has a smooth action for easy fastening.
This very Attractive Necklace is 25 inches long, and in Excellent Condition.

A Long French Jet Necklace – 48 inches long!
Each bead in the necklace is faceted all the way round, so that it catches reflected light and sparkles!
It is knotted with black cotton between each bead for extra security, and to prevent damage to the individual beads – of which there are 134 in total.
It has a good spring clasp. 
The length and spring clasp means that it is very versatile.
It can be worn as it is or one could clip a pendant, cross or fob onto it.
It can be doubled or trebled round the neck for a choker, or ‘knotted’ as shown in the photo, as they would have done in the ‘Roaring 20’s’!

Each bead has been carefully Hand-Carved with artistic skill and craftsmanship. 
The beads are graduated, and, in the centre, the rows are different lengths so that they sit correctly on the neck.
The two stylish ‘corner’ pieces are triangular, and deeply carved with a leaf pattern.
The beads go all the way round to make this a Superb Riviere, with a large and secure sprung bolt ring clasp for ease of putting on and taking off.
This Beautiful and Stylish Riviere Necklace is in Excellent Condition, and measures 17 ½ inches. A Good Investment.

A Rare and Superb Quality Hand-Carved Whitby Jet Pendant with Locket and heavy Sterling Silver belcher chain, c. 1880.
The front of the Pendant is deeply and masterfully Hand-Carved with great skill.
The centre is a polished convex oval, with carved leaves forming the arms of a discrete cross. There are more leaves radiating outwards between the arms, giving the impression of a star.
The outer frame is also ornamented. The rear of the Pendant is a Locket with the original frame and glass, which can be easily levered out, and a photo or personal mementoes inserted.
The Chain is a large belcher link 22 inches long, with a good sprung bolt ring clasp.
(This could easily be replaced by black material, if required, and the chain worn with other jewellery or alone).
This Intriguing Locket-Pendant hangs over three inches from the top of the generous Whitby Jet bale and 43mm. at the widest.
