A Beautiful Antique Brooch with a
Hand-Painted Portrait on Silk.
The Portrait has been done with
great skill and craftsmanship.
The subject is the Laughing
Cavalier, from a painting by Frans Hals in the 16th Century.
The frame is a rope twist, and the
pin and clasp at the back are in Excellent Condition, as is the whole
Brooch.
It measures 57mm. by 45 mm.

Dating fromcirca 1840, it has four Topaz coloured stones.

This quality Art Nouveau brooch dates from circa
1890, and is set with Topaz coloured stones, faceted and claw set. The
rectangular shape is complemented by scrolled edges in Silver.
This could
be worn either horizontally or vertically.
In perfect condition, it measures 60mm. by 18mm.

This brooch is in the shape of a horseshoe.
The
Turquoise stones are graduated, and are in excellent condition.
The
Amethyst stones are also graduated and have had some repair work
done in the past, but this does not detract from the overall impression.
The back and pin are in excellent condition, with a safety catch.
